• Bring the needle out on the lower line at the left side and
  • insert on the upper line a little to the right, taking a small stitch to the left with the thread below the needle.
  • Next, insert the needle on the lower line a little to the left with the thread above the needle.

These two movements are worked throughout. For the best effect, the stitches lifted by the needle and the spaces between the stitches should be of eqaul size.

Herringbone Stitch can be laced with a matching or contrasting thread.Use a blunt needle for lacing and do not pick up any of the fabric.
